Junior Kindergarten Teacher: Gerianne Evans

Gerianne Evans

My name is Gerianne Evans and I’m proud to be the Junior Kindergarten Teacher at SCCA! I am from St. Louis, Missouri, attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Grade School and Notre Dame High School. I received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Education from Truman State University. This will be my seventh year teaching at SCCA. I am proud to be one of the founding Team Members. I have also had the pleasure to teach at St. Joan of Arc, Union Preschool, and Avery Elementary in Webster Groves. I am very passionate about teaching our youngest learners! It’s so exciting to be a part of their “firsts” in a big kid school and to watch them progress in all areas of their development. I love working in a Reggio Inspired classroom, learning right alongside the children, creating activities that support their interests and wonder. I am also excited to be the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd Level I Formation Leader. I am able to guide the children in their faith as they develop their own relationships with God.
Personally, I have been married for 24 years and have two wonderful children who are 20 and 17 and also SCCA Alums! I have two cats named Dipper and Mabel. I love spending time with my family playing tennis, board games, and watching movies. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and gardening.

“I’ve been at SCCA since the school opened in 2017. I taught second grade for the first twenty years of my career and have been a JK aide for the past three years. In addition to spending time with the children, the main reason I love being a part of this community is the camaraderie among the faculty and staff. I truly enjoy spending time with these amazing colleagues. I also appreciate the way our administration prioritizes our  professional development. I am married to Jeff Suess and have four grown children. We are also proud grandparents of two. We live in University City and are active members of our parish, Christ the King. “
